Roberts Elementary PTA Committees

There is always something exciting happening at Roberts! Log in and visit our Volunteer section to view a complete listing of all our committees. We would love to have your help! Roberts PTA volunteers are a crucial element to our success as a PTA. Our active and involved parents volunteer in many facets of the school community. To ensure each child’s education is enriched by our involvement, Roberts PTA provides volunteer opportunities that bring parents, children and staff together in a variety of ways. Fundraising Committee
Chair:   Emily Cobb 1st VP
Description:  

This committee is responsible for overseeing the success of our PTA fundraising programs. 

Roberts PTA is funded solely by our membership and fundraising efforts.  In order to provide the wonderful academic and cultural enrichments, family oriented programs and events as well as support many of the other needs of our school, PTA pursues a number of fundraising events throughout the year; Read-A-Thon, “Rendezvous” –our adult themed evening, Box Tops, and Kroger Cards.

Roberts PTA in the past has provided our campus with needed additions and improvements including the benches and tables on our playground, art display boards, a trophy case, BrainPOP and many other long term expenditures are planned.  This year we want to buy blinds for our dining room and ipads for teacher check out in the media center.

Roberts per student expenditure has always been 80% of our operating budget.  

 
Hospitality

Roberts PTA welcomes the opportunity to provide a varied selection of events and family fun that invite our families and community onto our campus to enjoy special day and evening programs. Roberts PTA is proud to sponsor the following family events: Grandparents Week, Daddy Daughter Dance, Mother Son Olympics, and Family Movie Nights. We also meet the needs of our school and community through safety and helping hand committees like, Car Pool, Dining Room, Welcome Tours, Staff Appreciation, ViPS, and Roberts Red Cross Blood Drive.

 
Media Specialist

It is through our Media Specialist that Book Bonanza and the Scholastic Book Fair are managed.

 
Membership & Business Outreach Team

Description:  

The Membership Coordinator and Membership Committee are responsible for developing and implementing a PTA membership plan that includes attracting and retaining members. The chair and committee also help the PTA board ensure that the community-at-large understands the role of the PTA and the impact it can collectively have on the children, their families, and the school.

Rhetoric

The Roberts Rhetoric, a PTA sponsored newsletter, is a once a month publication letting our school community know what has happened and what is coming up.  The Rhetoric is another way of staying linked and "in the loop" with our school community.

Student Activities are vital and fundamental PTA sponsored events on campus. It is through our PTA Student Activities committees that so many wonderful academic and enrichment programs come to life; our volunteer base and fundraising efforts make these programs so successful. Accelerated Reader, Reflections, the Math and Literacy Carnival, Go Green!, 5th Grade Graduation, and  Kindergarten Celebration all come to life with the dedication of our Student Activities volunteers.

 
Watch Dog Dads
Chair:   Jeremiah Russell
Description:  

Roberts WATCH D.O.G.S program is immensely successful.  Everyday this meaningful program enriches our campus through volunteer involvement. Come join us and find out how rewarding this opportunity is for you, as well as, meaningful to your children and all the students at Roberts.

WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) - Engage men, inspire children, reduce bullying and enhance the educational environment at your school.  WATCH D.O.G.S. - Is the father involvement initiative of the National Center for Fathering that organizes fathers and father figures in order to provide positive male role models for the students and to enhance school security. Today, more than 2276 active programs in 41 states participate in the WATCH D.O.G.S. Program.

Who are WatchDOGS? Fathers, grandfathers, step-fathers, uncles, and other father figures who volunteer to serve at least one day a year in a variety of school activities as assigned by the school principal or other administrators.
